Omar Faruk

Omar Faruk

President

Omar Faruk is the Founder and President of the Columbus Action Network; it is though his belief that social entrepreneurship can make the world a better place that inspired him to create the organization’s various projects. Omar is also the CEO of LogicLotus, a technology-consulting firm operating under the name ColumbusTechie.

In 1997, Omar immigrated with his family from Noakhali, Bangladesh–to New York City.  He is the recipient of the 2007 “Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year” at age 17 was the youngest recipient of the award’s history.

Omar moved to Columbus, Ohio from New York City in 2008. He currently serves on the board of The Legacy Fund of The Columbus Foundation.

Scott Schopper

Finance Chair

Scott Schopper has been a dedicated supporter of community service since his time in college.  Starting in 1998, Scott has been on the committees of organizations and events from OSU undergrad GLBT groups, to Stonewall, and NAGAA services.  Over the last few years Scott has focused his time on the Stonewall Pride Festival, but continues to be involved in various activities in the greater Columbus area.

Scott is working with the Columbus Action Network to provide mentoring and support for the next generation of community leaders.

Jackie Jones

Member of the Board of Directors and Project Owner of Dream It, Do It, Grow It

Jackie is a native of Calvert County, MD and is driven by her childhood.  Growing up poor pushes Jackie to want to do more for her children, as well as herself, so that they don’t repeat the vicious cycle of poverty.  Jackie strives to participate in activities that enhance her ability to support her family and improve her community to ease economic hardships and the issues that are directly related. What stands out most about Jackie is her ability to read and interpret human nature and utilize this skill to help develop individuals, build business and write enthralling stories on multiple levels.
