Nexus:Columbus aims to assist youth in the GLBT community to develop into successful members of our community and society as a whole by pairing youth with mentors who are role models.

MISSION STATEMENT:

By pairing together GLBT youth and community leaders serving as mentors, youth will be guided through challenges, taught the history of our community and provided resources as needed.

PHILOSOPHY:

GLBT youth face unique and difficult challenges. They must not only accept themselves and their sexuality but also “come out” to those around them. This group also has similar problems other teenagers face making their self- identification as GLBT seem like an insurmountable hurdle. By creating a space where GLBT youth can spend one-on-one time with established members of their community, mentors will see the success they have achieved personally and professionally. These youth will acquire the tools available to become strong, productive, and positive members of our Columbus area community.
